Beverly Q. Gribben, age 77, died on Tuesday, September 1, 2015 at Ellis Hospital in Schenectady, NY
She was born on June 9, 1938 in Niagara Falls, NY and was the daughter of the late John C. and Minota E. (Mason) Queen. She was a graduate of LaSalle High School in Niagara Falls, class of 1956. Beverly earned her Bachelors Degree from SUNY Buffalo. She worked at the Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake School District for many years. She spent most of her career at Pashley Elementary School first, as a part-time teacher and later, as an established substitute teacher for 4th and 5th grades, Library, Art and English. She retired in 1996. Beverly enjoyed music, especially the piano which she taught her grandchildren as well as many of the neighborhood youngsters. She was an active member of Burnt Hills United Methodist Church where she was a devoted Sunday school teacher for many years. Through the continuing education department at Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake High School Beverly was an enthusiastic aquacise instructor for over 25 years. Traveling made her happy and one of her favorite vacations spots was the Caribean. Above all, Beverly was a loving wife and mother who enjoyed engaging at family picnics and gatherings with her sons and families who all live locally.

She was the beloved wife of Richard B. “Dick” Gribben whom she had known since kindergarten; loving mother of Bruce Gribben of Schenectady, Jack (Jennifer) Gribben of Florida, NY, Larry (Kelly) Gribben of Schoharie, NY and Ronald (Mariann) Gribben of Galway; nurturing grandmother of Daniel and Emily Gribben, Jerad (Kailyn) Gribben, Kailie Gribben, Noah Gribben, Lorenzo Cristaldi, Madeline, Casey, Kendall and Sydney Gribben, Elizabeth and Michelle Gribben; adoring great-grandmother of Gabriella Stumfell; caring sister of Linda (David) Griffith of Holliston, MA.
All are invited to attend a celebration of life service on Saturday, September 5, 2015 at 3:00 PM at Townley & Wheeler Funeral Home, 21, Midline Road, Ballston Lake, NY. Rev.Holly Nye, Pastor of Burnt Hills United Methodist Church will officiate. The family will receive guests from 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM prior to the service at the funeral home.
Interment will be private at Hillside Cemetery in Burnt Hills, NY.
