Obituary for Carl James Krupa

Carl James Krupa, 86, of Wheeler Drive, died peacefully on Saturday, September 26, 2015 in the comfort of his home with his loving family present. He was born on June 10, 1929 in Ithaca, NY and was the son of the late John and Frances (Hercinger) Krupa. Carl was raised in Ithaca and graduated from Ludlowville High School. He proudly served with the US. Navy until his honorable discharge on June 23, 1953. He married Dorothy (Listar) Krupa on June 5, 1948 in Ithaca, residing there till 1960. He relocated his family to Liverpool, NY until 1970 when they moved to Ballston Lake. Carl was a nuclear technician at Knolls Atomic Power Laboratory in Niskayuna, NY for over 19 years of his 30 years at GE, retiring in 1989. He loved airplanes and was an avid pilot. A child of the Great Depression, Carl had an extensive collection of all things, useful or not. Throughout his life his vast technical knowledge enabled him to fix most anything. He enjoyed hunting, sports, golfing, and both round and square dancing with his wife. He was a true giver with a huge heart and over the course of his life he donated over 17 gallons of blood. Carl enjoyed camping with his family throughout the U.S. and in later years enriched by motor home travel with his 'Darlin' wife. He was a communicant of the Church of the Immaculate Conception in Glenville, NY.
His large family filled his heart with joy. He was the beloved husband of Dorothy (Listar) Krupa, loving father of Brenda J. (Thomas) Krupa Zacholl of Baldwinsville, NY, Bruce J.(Ann) Krupa of Saratoga Springs, NY, Barbara K. (Mark) Turpin of Troy, NY, Beverly K. (John) Maley of Sandy Hook, CT and Bradley J. (Marianne) Krupa of Ballston Lake, NY; cherished grandfather of Rob, Jessica, Kathryn, Timothy, Renee, Stephen, Daniel, Rachel, Tyler and Jeremy. He has 14 beautiful great-grandchildren and he was pre-deceased by his four siblings.

All are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial which will be celebrated on Wednesday, September 30, 2015 at 11:00 AM at the Church of the Immaculate Conception, 400 Saratoga Road, Glenville, NY with Fr. Jerome Gingras officiating.

The family will receive friends and family one hour prior to the 11:00AM Mass on Wednesday morning from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM in the church.

Interment will immediately follow the Mass in Sweetman Cemetery, Charlton, NY.
