Obituary for Joy A. Hall

Dateline: Ballston Lake, NY
Joy A. Hall (Behrmann) 83, died peacefully at her home with her family at her side after braving metastatic breast cancer. Joy was born on January 14, 1931, the only child of Margaret and Joseph Behrmann of Mt. Vernon, NY. She was close with her cousins Dolores Watts and Jane Wickham, and Eddie and Beverly Ann Schimler. Joy met her husband Jerome C. Hall at AB Davis High School in Mt. Vernon, NY and married after they graduated and then moved to Lake Mahopac, NY. Together they built a life, home and raised three children, Jacqueline, Judith and Jerome J. Joy was a trained book-keeper and had several positions in the school district and with ARC while raising her children. The Halls loved the lakes, beaches and fishing so most summers were spent in the sun. In 1979, Joy and Jerry moved to Ballston Lake to enjoy the lake. Her home has been a peaceful haven.
Joy is survived by her husband, Jerry, her children, Jackie Langlois of Canton, MA, Judy Hall of Portland, OR and Jay Hall of Scotia, NY; 8 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and her precious dog Angel, her constant companion. Her neighbors have been a great source of comfort as well as the Community Hospice of Saratoga, her nurses Pat and Carol, Helen her social worker, Tina her aide, the Oncology department at Saratoga Hospital, the gero-psych department at Ellis Hospital, and last but not least Dr. Nicholson and his staff at Burnt Hills Internal Medicine. She is much loved and will be missed forever.
Services will be private.
Interment will be in the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville, NY.
In lieu of flowers, please pay it forward and donate to Community Hospice of Saratoga, 179 Lawrence St., Saratoga Springs, NY 12866, whom cared lovingly for her for the past year & a half.
With confidence, the family has placed their trust in the loving care of the Townley & Wheeler Funeral Home, 21 Midline Road, Ballston Lake NY, and they encourage you to view and leave messages on Mrs. Hall’s Book of Memories at www.TownleyWheelerFH.com
