Ronald E. “Ron” Wetsel, 75, of Tamarack Trail, died on Thursday, October 3, 2013 following a long illness. He was born on March 10, 1938 in Schenectady, NY and was the son of the late Edgar and Myrtis (Simmons) Wetsel. He was raised in Burnt Hills, NY and was a graduate of Burnt Hills High School.
He attended Bentley College. Mr. Wetsel was a US Army veteran who honorably served from 1959-1961. Ron had lived in Saratoga since 1968. He had worked for the US Postal Service as a letter carrier in Ballston Spa for many years until his retirement in 1998. Earlier, he worked for Mohawk National Bank.
He enjoyed spending time at the Ballston Spa Senior Center and he was an active member of the National Dowsers Association. He loved to square dance and he was a member of the Country Round & Square Dancing Association. Throughout his life, he had many loving and faithful Dachshund companions. His friend, Hans will miss him.
He was the beloved husband of Dawn S. Wetsel; loving father of Debra L. Schreiber of Lake George, NY and M. Scott (Laurie) Wetsel of Queensbury. He was the cherished grandfather of Brad and Eric Schreiber.
At Ron’s request, there will be no public calling hours. The family will celebrate his life privately.
Interment of his cremains will be in the Park Cemetery in Scotia where he will join his parents.
