George Sanders, 81, of Binghamton, went to be with the Lord Thursday, May 28, 2009 at Wilson Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was predeceased by his parents, George and Elizabeth and four sisters. He is survived by his devoted wife of 57 years, Georgia Sanders; three sons; George III and Monica, Port Crane; Gary and Joni, Vestal; Gregory and Lisa, Endicott; eight grandchildren; Tami and Robert Shaylor; Nicole Sanders-Rinker and friend Tom, Julie and Jake Hsein, Kristen and Paul, Victoria and Ryan Yale; Sara, Stephanie, Alexandria; five great grandchildren; Ashley, Robert, Makayla, Taylor, Natalie; two sisters and brother-in-law; Hazel Brock, Grace and Dick Lightner, two sisters-in-law; Jean Casley and Lorraine and Jim Speranza; many nieces and nephews. George was a hardworking man and the owner and operator of Sanders Southside Sunoco. He served in the US Army. He will be remembered as a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather. The love he had for his family will live in our hearts forever. The family would like to thank the nurses at Wilson Hospital CCU for their excellent care. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, June 1, 2009 at 11am at the Savage Funeral Home 338-344 Conklin Ave Binghamton with Pastor Andrew Hollinger of Conklin Ave. First Baptist Church officiating. The family will receive friends on Sunday May 31, 2009 from 2 to 5 pm. Burial will be at Vestal Hills Memorial Park with full military honors.
