Obituary for James A Correll

James A. Correll 70, of Kirkwood, passed away unexpectedly with his family by his side on November 16, 2014. He is predeceased by his parents Floyd and Beverly Correll. He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Trudy Correll; children, Tammy Appley (Scott), Tim Correll (Nikki), and Kelli Correll (Ted); granddaughters, Amber, Chelsea, Courtnie; grandsons, Mitchell, Trevor, Dakota; sister, Diane O'Connor; brothers, Walt Correll (Renate), Dan Correll (Ellen); brother-in-law, Bob Lee (Sue); cousins, Dick Dunkelberger (Jeannine); as well as many nieces, nephews, family members, friends, and union brothers. Jim graduated from Binghamton North High School in 1963, and went on to graduate from Broome Tech. He worked for Westinghouse Elevator, which then became Schindler Elevator in which he retired from in 2003. He was a long time member of the International Union of Elevator Constructors Local 100/62, holding many offices. After retirement he went back to work as an inspector for CNY. He was an Elevator School Instructor and became a role model to many students entering the trade. His children and his grandchildren were his greatest joy in life, he will be forever proud of them. He touched many lives throughout the years and will be dearly missed by all. The family wishes to thank the staff at Wilson Hospital ICU for their extraordinary care. Visitation will be held Friday at Savage Funeral Service, 338 Conklin Ave., Binghamton, NY 13903 from 2 to 4 p.m. A Memorial Service will follow at 4 p.m. with Pastor John Koopman Officiating.
