Violet (Vi) V. Gross, 82, of Binghamton joined her husband, Stanley R. Gross, Sr., of 43 years and after 17 years of his passing on April 22, 2007. She is also predeceased by her parents, Benjamin and Anna Statkun, one sister, Pauline Bruno; and one son-in-law, Greg Kerstetter. She is survived by one daughter, Janet Kerstetter, Binghamton; two sons and daughters-in-law; Stan and Lisa Gross, Vestal; Bruce and Kathy Gross, Binghamton;, three grandchildren; Thomas and Maegan Gross, their mother and God daughter Boni Gross, Jennifer Gross; two step grandchildren, Michelle and Courtney Woolever; two brothers, Ed and Al Statkun; two sisters, Jean Dingee, Margie Oliveri; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Vi was a founding member of St. Andrew’s Church, life-long member of Catholic Daughters and a Girl Scout Leader for many years. Vi will be remembered as a feisty, "stubborn”, strong-willed mom, grandma and mother-in-law with a wonderfully loving, caring, big heart. She is and will always be loved by those hearts she touched.
Funeral services will be held 9am Thursday April 26, 2007 from Savage Funeral Home 338-344 Conklin Ave Binghamton followed by a Funeral Mass at 9:30am at St. Andrew’s Church with Msgr. Michael Meagher officiating. The family will welcome friends Wednesday from 4 to 7 pm at Savage Funeral Home. Burial will be in Vestal Hills Memorial Park.
