Ada N. Burdick

Burdick, Ada, a longtime resident of Brewster, NY, died Sunday, May 15, 2016 at her home with her family by her side. She was 83 years old.<br>Ada was born on April 1, 1933 in New York City, NY, daughter of the late Charles and Johanna (Walter) Baker. She graduated from Croton Falls High School. <br>Over 65 years ago she met the love of her life John Burdick at the Carnival in Carmel, NY. They married on May 14, 1955 at the Croton Falls Methodist Church. <br>Ada was an animal lover, whether she was rescuing wildlife or adopting from the humane society they were all special to her. She enjoyed music and was a great singer and piano player, the tunes just came naturally to her. She was a mother of five children which was her greatest passion.<br>Mrs. Burdick is survived by her husband of 61 years, John, her 4 daughters; Doreen (Dave) Kracunas of Brewster, NY, Bonnie (Scott) Gould of Brewster, NY, Holly Burdick of Ledyard, CT and Rosalinde Smith of Ledyard, CT her 10 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren and her sister Geraldine Keller. She was predeceased by her son John B. Burdick in 2010. <br>A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 18, 2016 at 11 am at Beecher Funeral Home, 1 Putnam Avenue, Brewster, NY. Interment will follow at Milltown Rural Cemetery, Brewster, NY. Visitation will be held on Tuesday May 17, 2016 from 5pm-8pm.<br>Contributions in Ada's memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Association. <br>
