Ann M. Wiegand Obituary
Ann M. Wiegand, age 88, of Brewster, NY, died September, 12, 2015 in Carmel, NY.
Ann was born on March 25, 1927 in Queens, NY to Anton and Johanna (Hepp) Blersch. She graduated from Woodmere High School in Woodmere, NY and attended the Katherine Gibbs School in New York City.
On June 13, 1948 Ann married the love of her life, George R. Wiegand in Hewlett, NY.
Together they raised their family in Brewster, NY.
Ann’s love for dogs was brought full circle when she became a dog trainer. This was her passion for many years.
Through the years, Ann enjoyed her many hours given to the Putnam Hospital through her volunteering in their gift shop or the Eagle Eye Thrift Shop in Brewster. Ann was involved with the Hospital before the physical building was in place.
Besides her husband George, Ann is survived by her Daughter Joanne Wiegand and her husband Robert of Anthony, FL and her sons George A. Wiegand and his wife Norma of Cambridge, Maryland, Eric Wiegand and his wife Margie of Brewster, NY and Mark Wiegand and his wife Pat of Walden, NY. Seven grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Ann was pre-deceased by a son Richard Wiegand on June 21, 2014.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, September 16, 2015 10:00am at St. Lawrence O’Toole Church, Brewster, NY, Interment of Ann’s Cremains will follow at St. Lawrence O’Toole Cemetery, Brewster. Beecher Funeral Home, 1 Putnam Ave. Brewster will be assisting the family.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Ann’s memory may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
