Anthony L. DiNardo Brewster, New York Obituary

Anthony L. DiNardo

Anthony L. DiNardo, 89, decided that on February 23, 2019, he would join the love of his life in his forever home where they will now watch over their family together.
Anthony was born on April 28, 1929 and was one of Antonio and Rose DiNardo’s seven children. Born in the Bronx, NY, Anthony met Anne Squeo on a blind date and married her on February 4, 1953. His love for Anne was enormous and his dedication and commitment to her was evident in how he lived his daily life. In November 1963, Anthony and Anne moved their family from Mount Vernon, NY to “upstate” Brewster, NY. Anthony was a dedicated employee for the General Motors Company for 35 years. He wasn’t the type to slow down upon retirement. Always remaining active, he enjoyed golfing, fishing and tending to his yard and most recently walking and spoiling his dog, Jeter. Nothing, however, gave him more joy than the time he spent with his grandchildren. A fixture in their lives during the most common of days as well as the most critical events. Gramps simply made everything better.
Anthony lived an ordinary and extraordinary life at the same time. He was a United States Army Veteran who served his country during the Korean War. Anthony bestowed unconditional love and wisdom on all who knew him. He was a man of high integrity who lived by example leading his family through many challenges and always coming out stronger on the other side. A true survivor and hero. He was “Grampa Tony” and influenced, supported and entertained countless people who didn’t share his bloodline.
Anthony was predeceased by his wife Anne and his two children, Robert Paul DiNardo and Toni DiNardo. He is survived by his son Paul DiNardo and his wife Nina, his daughters Roseanne Galante and Mariellen DiNardo and daughter in law, Jackie Swaim DiNardo as well as his pride and joys, his grandchildren Pamela Anne Badoud, Amanda Rachel DiNardo, Anthony Armand DiNardo, Anthony James Galante, Robert Paul DiNardo Jr., Annemarie Blanchette, Candace Nicole Galante, Nicholas Anthony DiNardo and Jordon Mekhi Brown and his great grandsons Digger Morris Badoud and Jameson Paul Blanchette.
A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, March 1, 2019 at 11am at St. Lawrence O’Toole Church, Brewster, NY.
