Arthur A. Willis of Brewster, NY, formerly Rhode Island, died peacefully at home with his family by his side on November 30, 2017. He was 89 years old.

Mr. Willis was born on March 23, 1928 in Mt. Kisco, NY. He is the son of the late Arthur A. and Lucy (Ours) Willis. Arthur honorably served in the United States Air Force during WWII.

On September 23, 1951 he married the love of his life in White Plains, NY, Dorothy J. Ackerly.

Arthur was a Senior Engineer at Pace University in Pleasantville, NY for many years before retiring. Following retirement Dorothy and he moved to Charlestown, Rhode Island. He was a “tinkerer” and very hands on, constantly inventing new things. He was an active member of the Brewster VFW Post. The most important thing to him was his family.

Arthur is survived by his wife of 66 years, Dorothy, and his children; Gary A. Willis and his wife Mary Ann of Bethel, CT, Gail A. Myers and her husband John of East Wakefield, NH, Donna L. Moloney and her husband Jim, and Ron A. Willis and his wife Tina of Poughkeepsie, NY. Arthur and Dorothy have 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. He was recently predeceased by his only brother, Albert, in August 2017.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday December 5, 2017 at 11:00 am at Beecher Funeral Home, 1 Putnam Avenue, Brewster, NY. Interment will follow at Kensico Cemetery, Valhalla, NY. Visitation will be held on Monday December 4, 2017 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
