Bettina Goossen

Bettina Concetta (Butler) passed peacefully at Hancock Hall in Danbury, CT, on October 22, 2017 with family by her side. Bettina was born in Somers, NY on January 28,1922. She was a loving older sister to Charles and Virginia, and spent much of her life in Croton Falls, NY. She was married to George Butler on May 3, 1940 until his death in 1954. On August 26,1962 Bettina married Frederick L. Goossen and together they raised 7 children. They moved to Marco Island, FL in 1983 and later to Melbourne, FL. In 2008 they moved to Danbury, CT to be closer to family. Frederick passed away in 2010 after 47 wonderful years of marriage and happiness together. <br>There was nothing more important to Bettina than her family. She is survived by her sister, H. Virginia (Roger) Browne; her children, Richard (Alice) Goossen, Bettina (Timothy) Fields, S. Jeffrey (Patricia) Butler, Elise (J. Steven) Paquette, Carrie (David) Ryan, and David (Rebecca) Goossen. She was predeceased by Lawrence Goossen. She was a proud grandmother to 19 and great-grandmother to 25. She was greatly loved and will be missed. A Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for Monday, October 30, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Somers, NY with internment to follow. <br>
