Catherine H. Carr

Catherine Hogan Carr, a life long resident of Brewster passed away peacefully on Friday, January 31 after a long illness at the age of 89. She joins her older sister, Patricia Hanna late of Allview Avenue who passed last year. Born in Danbury, she worked at the Peaceable Hill Florist, and later as a personal aide for many years. Loving wife of Vane Foster Carr, late of Brewster, and loving mother of their eldest son Michael Patrick Carr, late of Danbury, and grandmother to Michael V. Carr late of Kent, NY. She is survived by their son John Joseph Carr and his husband William J. McLeod of Boston, and her granddaughter Amanda Carr of Brookfield,CT. She leaves her niece Sharon Greaves (née Hanna) and her husband Douglas Greaves of Danbury, her grand-nephews Brian E. Barbarossa and Frederick W. Barbarossa along with many friends and cousins. Known as Katie to all who knew and loved her, she adored her family and had a great love of animals. Because of that love, her son John asks that in lieu of flowers, donations in Katie's memory be made to the Putnam Humane Society. Visiting hours will take place on Thursday February 6, 2014. 4pm-7pm. Interment will be private. <br> She will be greatly missed.<br>
