Catherine A. Hill of Brewster, NY, died peacefully on Sunday January 19, 2020 at Westchester Medical Center. She was 81 years old.

Born on August 7, 1938 in Mt. Kisco, NY, daughter of the late James and Elizabeth (Creamer) Gallagher. Catherine graduated from St. Mary’s High School in Katonah, NY in 1956. She continued her education at Misericordia Hospital School of Nursing to receive her bachelor’s in nursing.

Mrs. Hill was a registered nurse with Mt. Kisco Medical group for 45 years before retiring in 2006. She enjoyed traveling to Ireland and Scotland with her family and friends. Catherine had a passion for cooking and baking and made the best fried chicken, meatloaf, potato salad and apple pie. The wintertime was her favorite time as she loved the snow and toboggining. She loved animals especially dogs and was an avid Yankee fan. Catherine had a big heart and always put others first, she was a dedicated friend and a devoted mother and grandmother. Her laugh could always be heard and smile always seen.

Catherine is survived by her loving children; Carl Hill, III of Brewster, NY, James Michael Hill and his wife Jayme of Magnolia, TX, Kerry A. Segnit of Fishkill, NY, her beloved grandson; Brandon J. Segnit. She is also survived by her beloved sister, Mary Van Sant of Evergreen, CO. She was predeceased by her brother James Gallagher.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday January 27, 2020 at St. Lawrence O’Toole Church, Brewster, NY at 10am. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Sunday January 26th from 2pm-6pm at Beecher Funeral Home, 1 Putnam Avenue, Brewster, NY.
