Christopher Raymond Cole, Jr., a lifelong resident of Croton Falls, NY passed away with his family by his side on March 6, 2011 in Mt. Kisco, NY. He was born on August 17, 1927 in Danbury, CT to the late Christopher Raymond Cole, Sr. and Lillian May (Reynolds) Cole.
Ray graduated from Central High School, class of 1944 and attended La Salle Military Academy in Oakdale, LI. He also graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree from N.Y. University in 1950. He served with the U.S. Army in Fort Dix, NJ.
Ray married the love of his life Elizabeth Shay Cole on June 27, 1954 in Croton Falls, NY. His passion was baseball being a Brooklyn Dodgers fan and one of the first founders of little league baseball as well as recreational basketball in North Salem, NY. He was a proud volunteer fireman with the Croton Falls Fire Dept. and later served as fire commissioner. Ray retired as post master of 30 years in Croton Falls, NY and was also a member of the North Salem school board. But most of all Ray will be remembered for his love and devotion to his family and friends.
Ray was predeceased by his wife Elizabeth of over 50 years in 2005. He is survived by his loving children James (Kathleen) Cole of LaGrangeville, NY. Terence (Joanne) Cole of Merrimack, NH. Katherine (Wayne) Outhouse of Croton Falls, NY. Christopher Cole of Greenville, NC. Laurie (Barry) Reisler of Amawalk, NY. Thomas (Maureen) Cole of North Salem, NY. Also his 18 cherished grandchildren Michael, Kristy, Kaitlin, Christopher, Caroline, Claire, Katherine, Andrew, Jesse, Molly, Emma, Shay, Ally, Amanda, Ashley, Thomas, Christopher, Matthew and his great granddaugther, Payton.
Ray’s family would like to thank everyone for keeping them in their thoughts and prayers during their time of loss. At this time no services will be held. A memorial gathering will be held at a later date. He will be greatly missed.
