Cristof Volpe known by all as Chris, a 7 year resident of Brewster, NY, formerly of Brooklyn, NY, died Monday December 21, 2015 with his loving family by his side. He was 90 years old.

Mr. Volpe was born June 24, 1925 in Riesi, Italy, son to the late Joseph and Josephine (Cigna) Volpe

Cristof moved to America in the late 1950’s where he met and married the love of his life Evelyn Gorra on April 11, 1959. She predeceased him in 2007.

Mr. Volpe was a longshoreman with the ILA in Brooklyn, NY for over 20 years before retiring.

Chris was a proud Italian and was always singing his Italian music. He enjoyed vegetable and fruit gardening bringing him back to his childhood on a farm. His family was the most important thing to him, he enjoyed teaching and playing card games with his grandchildren and spending time with them.

Cristof is survived by his two children; Christine Penney of Trumbull, CT and Joseph (Leonor) Volpe of Brewster, NY; his three brothers and their families, who reside in Italy and his 7 grandchildren; Thomas Volpe, Lauren Penney, Michelle Penney, Stephen Penney, Christopher Volpe, Jonathan Volpe and Mark Volpe. He was predeceased by a sister.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, December 23, 2015 at 11:30 AM at St. Lawrence O’Toole Church, Brewster, NY. Interment following at St. Lawrence O’Toole Cemetery, Brewster.
