Daniel C. Baker

Daniel Baker, 82, of Wappinger Falls formerly of Carmel entered into eternal rest August 14 at Vassar Brothers Hospital.<br>He was born November 5, 1929 to Eva (Barrett) Baker and Daniel Baker, Sr. <br>He was educated in the Brewster schools and as a young man entered the U.S. Navy. After his service he was employed on a scalloper out of New- Bedford, Massachusetts. When he returned to Putnam County he was hired later on as a custodian at Brewster High School retiring in 1995 after 21 years of service.<br>Dan married his wife, Gloria in 1961 and celebrated 51 years of marriage in March.<br>He enjoyed fishing, camping, playing guitar and most of all a Giants football game and was probably the most ardent fan.<br>Besides his wife he is survived by three daughters; Debra Dellocono of Lake Carmel, Sharon Guenthner of Wingdale and Gloria Baker of Hopewell junction, also six grandchildren and two great grandchildren. His beloved son Robert Green died of cancer in 2005.<br>Visiting hours are 2pm-4pm and 7pm-9pm at Beecher Funeral Home, 1 Putnam Avenue, Brewster NY on Friday August 17,2012. A Funeral service will take place Saturday at 11 am at the Funeral home. Burial will be in the family plot in Union Valley Cemetery, Mahopac NY.<br>
