Dorothy A. Lahm Obituary

Dorothy A. (Young) Lahm, a 22-year resident of Brewster, NY, formerly of Croton Falls, NY, and The Bronx, passed away peacefully on April 27, 2020. She was 92 years old.
Dotty was born on December 27, 1927 in Bronx, New York, daughter of the late Charles (NYPD) and Ella (O’Donnell) Young. She graduated from St. Nicholas of Tolentine High School and Grace Institute for Secretarial School.
In 1957 she married the love of her life, John ‘Jack’ Lahm at St. Nicholas of Tolentine in Bronx, NY. Jack predeceased his wife in 1991 after 34 years of marriage.
Dotty was an executive secretary with Pan American Airways in NYC for 13 years before retiring. She was also a secretary with Edward Gordon MD, North Salem, NY and Thomas J. Dietz, Bedford Hills, NY. She was an active volunteer with the American Cancer Society and Putnam Hospital Center. She was a parishioner and eucharistic minister at St. Joseph’s Church. Dotty was a proud member of the Red Hat Society. She also enjoyed her time spent with the North Salem Seniors and was a member of the Southeast Seniors.
Dotty is survived by her loving children; Phil Lahm and his wife Elaine of Bradenton, FL, Bobby Lahm and his wife Christine of Wingdale, NY, Mary-Ellen Schuttenhelm and her husband Rich of Plano, TX, Jackie Gambardella and her husband Jimmy of Brewster, NY, her 11 grandchildren; Jennifer (Lahm) Fiore and her husband Justin, Brittany (Lahm) Losee and her husband Matthew, Jared Lahm and his fiancée Ashley Bargfrede, Matthew Lahm, Meghan (Lahm) Tiemann and her husband Peter, Nicole Schuttenhelm and her fiancée Mick Dell’Orco, Danielle (Schuttenhelm) Sheehan and her husband Luke, Kyle Schuttenhelm and his girlfriend Jordan Vincze, James Gambardella, Robert Gambardella and his wife Kalin and Ryan Gambardella. Also, several nieces, nephews and dear friends. She was predeceased by her siblings; Margaret Connelly, Eleanor Walbrun and Charles Young and granddaughter; Samantha Schuttenhelm.
At this time, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, a private family burial will take place at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Somers, NY. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
