<br>Eleanor R. Casey of Brewster, NY, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, January 17th at the age of 89. Born Eleanor R. Camp on November 24, 1921 in Mount Vernon, NY to Jennette Smith Camp and Harold A. Camp, Eleanor went on to attend Mount Vernon Public Schools and later studied nursing at Mount Vernon Hospital. It was during this time that she met the love of her life and future husband, John J. Casey.<br> <br> The U.S. entry into World War II in 1941 delayed any nuptial plans which John and Eleanor may have had and it wasn’t until December 14, 1942 that they were able to begin the 65-year marriage which would end only with John’s death in 2008. After the war ended in 1945, John and Eleanor settled in Pelham, where they would live and raise their family over the next 62 years.<br> <br> Eleanor Casey devoted her adult life to raising her six children. For over four decades, she attended to the nutritional, educational, spiritual, social, recreational and hygienic needs of her family. Sit-down family dinners (including grace) were the rule. Attendance at mass was expected every Sunday. Eleanor’s children were the beneficiaries of the enormous sacrifice and strong personal example which she and John provided over the course of their married life together.<br> <br> Mrs. Casey was predeceased by her husband John and daughter Patricia Ann Casey. She is survived by three sons, John, Jr. (Connie), William and Richard, two daughters, Kathleen Nazarenko (Walter) and Bronwyn Hertz (James), thirteen grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her close personal friend and care provider over the past four years, Ms. Thelma Reid.<br> <br>A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday January 20, 2011, 11am at St. Lawrence O'Toole Church in Brewster, NY. Interment will follow at the Kensico Cemetery in Valhalla, NY. Family will receive friends 2-4 & 7-9 pm Wednesday January 19th, at the Beecher Funeral Home 1 Putnam Ave. Brewster, NY 10509 (845-279-3615). She will be greatly Missed
