George J. Rohrman, of Brewster, NY, died peacefully at Putnam Hospital Center on March 11, 2020. He was 89 years old.
Born on June 26, 1930 in Bronx, NY, son of the late George J. and Agnes (Houston)Rohrman. During the Korean War Mr. Rohrman honorably served in the United States Airforce. George received two bachelor’s degrees: one from NYU and the other from Fordham University.
On May 16th George married the love of his life, Marie McGreevy. Marie predeceased her husband on November 8, 2011.
Mr. Rohrman was an Astro Physicist with Loral Electronics in Yonkers, NY for many years before retiring in 1996. He was an active parishioner of St. Lawrence O’Toole Church including being a eucharistic minister and a CCD teacher. George was a chairman on the Southeast Planning board for 25 years.
George is survived by his loving children; Gerald Rohrman and his wife Regina, Gail Bailie and her husband Michael, Kenneth Rohrman and his wife Heather, Claire Pierson and her husband Mark, his 4 grandchildren; Michaela, Connor, Caitlin Bailie and Aedan Rohrman and his sister Dorothy West. He was predeceased by his brother Robert Rohrman.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Thursday March 19, 2020 at St. Lawrence O’Toole Church, Brewster at 10am. Interment will follow at St. Lawrence O’Toole Cemetery, Brewster. Visitation will be held on Wednesday March 18th at Beecher Funeral Home, 1 Putnam Avenue, Brewster from 4pm-8pm.
