George P. Rohrs of Golden’s Bridge passed away at his residence Friday May 2, 2014. He was 97 years old.<br><br>He was born August 17, 1916 in North Pelham, NY to John A. and Katie Rohrs. He was predeceased by his wife, Barbara Kneissl Rohrs; and two brothers and three sisters.<br><br>An avid hunter and fisherman, much of his spare time was spent in the outdoors where he received his inspiration for painting, carvings, and woodworking projects. He retired from General Precision Laboratories in Pleasantville, N.Y. and later from Tull Aviation where he worked as a mechanical designer.<br><br>He is survived by four sons; George of Carlisle, PA, Robert of Carmel, NY, Richard of Carmel, NY, Geoffrey of Central Valley, NY and one daughter Barbara Primavera of Jefferson, NY. He was also blessed by nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.<br><br>Visitation will be held 11am-1pm on Thursday, May 8, 2014 at the Beecher Funeral Home, 1 Putnam Avenue, Brewster, NY, interment will be private. <br><br>In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice Care in Westchester and Putnam, 540 White Plains Road, Suite 300, Tarrytown, N.Y. 10591 or at www.VNAHV.org<br>

He was born August 17, 1916 in North Pelham, NY to John A. and Katie Rohrs. He was predeceased by his wife, Barbara Kneissl Rohrs; and two brothers and three sisters.
