Gerald L. ‘Jerry’ Staadt, Sr., a resident of Patterson since 1980, died peacefully at his home on Saturday, February 18, 2017. He was 74 years old.
Jerry was born April 23, 1942 in Chicago, IL. He was the son of Peter and Wilma (Thompson) Staadt. Jerry graduated from Schools in Chicago.
Jerry married Lillian ‘Diana’ Chamberlain on August 12, 1961 in Chicago. Lillian died September 6, 1992. Jerry then married Louisa Paulo in Las Vegas, NV on June 28, 2004.
Jerry was a supervisor for Precision Valve Corp. in Yonkers, NY for 35 years having retired at age 65. He had worked prior for Seeburg Juke Boxes in Chicago, IL as a manager.
Jerry was a great friend to all. A member of the Putnam Lake VFW and a former member of the BPO Elks Lodge 2101 in Brewster, NY where his 1st wife Diana had been very involved in the ladies auxiliary. He enjoyed traveling, particularly Las Vegas.
Besides his wife Louisa, Jerry is survived by his two sons, Gerald L. ‘Jerry’ Staadt, Jr. (Helen) of Patterson, NY and Richard ‘Rick’ Staadt (Michelle) of Harrisburg, NC; two step daughters, Christine Lovelace (Charles) of Brooklyn, NY and Louisa Marie Amaral of Pennsylvania; a brother, Thomas Staadt (Nikki) of Australia and 7 grandchildren, Tiffany, Tara, Jasmine, Tyler, Travis, Christian and Cameron. He was predeceased by his brother Peter Staadt.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, February 24, 2017 at 10am at Sacred Heart Church, Patterson, NY. The Beecher Funeral Home, 1 Putnam Avenue, Brewster, NY will assist Jerry’s family with the funeral arrangements. www.beecherfuneralhome.com
