Helen M. Donohue, of Hopewell Junction, NY, formerly of Brewster, NY, died Wednesday December 28, 2016 at Westchester Medical Center. She was 81 Years old.
Helen was born on October 14, 1935 in Burlington, VT, daughter of the late Horace and Blanche (Caise) Beaudwin. She graduated from Stratford High School in Stratford CT.
On June 9, 1956 she married the love of her life William J. Donohue at Mahopac Methodist Church. Together they moved to Brewster, NY and raised their daughter Julie. He predeceased her on September 15, 1991.
Mrs. Donohue was not only a mother to her daughter but the entire neighborhood. She never had an empty house and enjoyed taking care of all her ‘kids’. She enjoyed reading and coloring in adult coloring books. She could out walk anyone who joined her on her daily 5 mile walks.
Helen is survived by her daughter; Julie Donohue of Hopewell Junction, NY, her siblings; George Beaudwin, Nancy Murray and Joan Pullo and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister Joyce Beaudwin and Ruth Murray.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 31, 2016 at Beecher Funeral Home, 1 Putnam Avenue, Brewster, NY at 10am. Interment will follow at Peach Pond Cemetery, North Salem, NY. Visitation will be held on Friday December 30th from 4pm-7pm.
