Helen (“Ebbie”) Marie McKeon, née O’Toole, 98, of Brewster, New York passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 17, 2016, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on November 3, 1917 in Manhattan. Helen was the daughter of the late Patrick and Mary O’Toole who emigrated from Ireland to the U.S. She was a graduate of All Saints Academy in Manhattan. She was the beloved wife of the late Gilbert F. McKeon and they raised their children in The Bronx and Patchogue. Helen leaves a son, Thomas G. McKeon and his wife Theresa; daughter, Patricia M. McKeon; son, Peter G. McKeon and his wife Ana; ten grandchildren, and thirteen great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her son, John F. McKeon; one sister, Catherine; and four brothers, Thomas, James, Martin, and Lawrence. She is survived by her brother, John. Helen was a member of the Putnam Lake Senior Citizens for twenty-two years. She was a communicant of St. Lawrence O’Toole and Sacred Heart churches. Friends may call at Beecher Funeral Home, 1 Putnam Avenue, Brewster, NY on Saturday and Sunday, March 19 and 20 from 4 – 8 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Monday, March 21 at 10 a.m. at St. Lawrence O’Toole in Brewster followed by burial at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Hawthorne.
