Obituary
Mazziotti, Horatius ‘Dotto’, age 92, a lifelong resident of Elmsford, NY, died Wednesday March 2, 2011. He was the husband of the late Marion Winkelman, who died on May 14, 2004.
Mr. Mazziotti was born on May 19, 1918 in Elmsford, NY to Emanuel and Katherine (Mortelliti) Mazziotti. After graduating from Alexander Hamilton High School in Elmsford, Mr. Mazziotti attended Syracuse University.
Mr. Mazziotti married Marion Winkelman on June 10, 1942 in Miami, Florida. He then served from 1942 to 1945 in the Army Air Corps during WWII.
Mr. Mazziotti was a shipping clerk for Sonotone in Elmsford from 1940 to 1964. He then worked for General Motors Corp in Tarrytown, NY from 1964 until his retirement in 1974.
An avid Yankees fan, Mr. Mazziotti was past president of the Italian American Club in Elmsford. He was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church in Elmsford.
Mr. Mazziotti is survived by his daughter Maryann Tucker and her husband Charles of Patterson, NY, two grandsons, Anthony and his wife Barbara and Michael and his wife Janet. Also three great grandchildren, Michelle, Makenzie and Jonathan. He was pre-deceased by a sister Mary Sippel and five brothers, Rockwell Massey, John, Anthony, Emanuel and Joseph Mazziotti.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, March 5, 2011 10:00AM at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church in Elmsford followed by a burial at Mount Calvary Cemetery in White Plains, NY. Friends may call at Beecher Funeral Home, 1 Putnam Avenue, Brewster, NY on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9pm.
