Joan B. Costello

Joan B, Costello, of Carmel, NY, died Tuesday, July 12, 2016 at Northern Westchester Hospital. She was 81 years old.

Mrs. Costello was born August 31, 1934 in the Bronx, NY, daughter to the late Richard and Lillian (Hills) Denny. She graduated from Walton High School in Bronx, NY. In 1941 she moved to Carmel, NY.

On November 8, 1953 she married the love of her life Thomas Costello at St. Angela’s Merici in the Bronx, NY. He predeceased her in December 1983.
Joan was a school bus aid with the Carmel Central School District for 27 years before retiring. She enjoyed working with the school children on a daily basis. She enjoyed crafts and playing bingo. She loved dogs and her family was very important to her.
Mrs. Costello is survived by her children; Lill Wilbert and her husband Keith of Harwinton, CT, Michael Costello and his wife Johanna of LaGrange, NY and James Costello and his wife Joan of Hopewell Junction, NY; her sister Christine Denny of Lake Carmel, NY and 6 grandchildren. She was predeceased by her son John in 1997.
