Ballerini, John F., of Chincoteague, VA, formerly Danbury, CT, and the Bronx, NY, died Saturday, February 20, 2016 at Costal Hospice at the Lake in Salisbury, MD. He was 92 years old.

Mr. Ballerini was born November 11, 1923 in the Bronx, NY, son to the late Alexander and Elizabeth (Ciregna) Ballerini. John honorably served in the US Army from 1943-1945.

John married Eileen V. McDonnell on February 9, 1945 in the Bronx, NY. She predeceased him in 2013.

He was a loyal union man with Local 1500 (UFCW) Union for over 40 years, dedicated to the end.

He loved/hated to watch the Yankees. John was a semi pro player with the NY Giants before an injury placed him on the sidelines. His greatest joys were his family and his time spent on the ball fields.

Mr. Ballerini is survived by his son; Kenneth Ballerini of Chincoteague, VA, 11 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his five children; John, Kathy, Jeff, Alexander and Peter.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday February 25, 2016 at 10:00 AM at St. Lawrence O’Toole Church, Brewster, NY. Interment will be private.
