Clark, John A., a resident of Danbury, CT formerly of Brewster, NY, died peacefully in his sleep with his family by his side on December 16, 2016 in Danbury, CT. He was 68 years old.
John was born June 30, 1948 in Syracuse, NY, son of the late John J. and Marguerite (Quinlan) Clark. John attended Boces in Yorktown, NY and Bailey Hall in Somers, NY.
In his younger years he worked at Reader’s Digest and Chappaqua Schools in food services for close to 20 years. After retiring from the food services he was a fixture at Green Chimney in Patterson, NY, where he was an active volunteer in housekeeping.
John was a positive force and engaged many in conversations, leaving a smile on your face. He enjoyed golfing and working outdoors. He had a great lighthouse collection. To him his family brought the greatest joy in life.
John is survived by his siblings; Mary Whalen of Danbury, CT, Richard Clark of Downing Town, PA and Barbara Greenbaum of Newport Richey, FL, his 9 nieces and nephews and 13 great nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. A private cremation was held prior. Beecher Funeral Home, 1 Putnam Avenue, Brewster, NY assisted the family with arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in John’s memory may be made to the Green Chimneys Memorial Tree Program, 400 Doansburgh Road, Brewster, NY.
