John M. de Mattos Obituary
John Michael deMattos was born in Brooklyn on March 5, 1929 and was raised by Philip and Harriet Donnelly in Brooklyn as well. John served in the United States Army as well as attending college and receiving his Master's Degree. He worked for the Board of Education for the City of New York, retiring after 42 years as an Assistant Principal.
In 1954 John married Elaine in Brooklyn, NY. and they had two sons; John de Mattos II of Kent, NY and Mark (Rocio) of Naugatuck, CT, who survive him. Elaine predeceased John in1996. John is also survived by a grandaughter, Elaine Christine of Naugatuck, CT
The family will be holding visitation on Saturday, July 22 from 8-9:30am at Beecher Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10am at St. Joseph's Church in Somers. Burial will take place at St. Joseph's Cemetery also in Somers.
