John J. Duke

John J. Duke, of Brewster, NY, died peacefully with his family by his side on Monday February 4, 2019. He was 80 years old.
Born on February 5, 1938 in the Bronx, NY, son of the late John J. and Laura (Davis) Duke. John honorably served in the US Navy on the U.S.S Leyte.
Duke was a journeyman with Teamsters Local 553 in Manhattan, NY for over 50 years before he retired in 2003. John was full of life, always happy and laughing. He would do anything for anyone and always lent a helping hand. Duke enjoyed traveling, especially to Florida and cruising. However is greatest passion in life was his grandchildren.
Duke is survived by his children; Margaret Duke of Brewster, NY, Patricia Duke of Walden, NY, Steven Duke (Kim) of Milford, PA, Brian Duke of Brooklyn, NY, William Duke (Lori) of Sunrise, FL, Jacqueline Corso of Bethel, CT, Joseph Daniels (Darlene) and their son Brian, his 18 grandchildren and 14 greatgrandchildren. He was predeceased by his 2 sons; John and Thomas as well as his 4 siblings.
Visitation will be held on Friday February 8, 2019 at Beecher Funeral Home, 1 Putnam Avenue, Brewster, NY from 6pm-9pm. A private cremation will follow.
