Julius Dellabate Obituary
Julius Dellabate, age 97, a resident of Carmel and Brewster, NY over the past 20 years, died peacefully on March 20, 2021 at Putnam Ridge Nursing Home.
Born on March 29, 1923 to Dionigi and Maria (Dilonardo) Dellabate he was a graduate of New York City Schools. He proudly served in the Army from 1943 to 1945 during WWII, receiving the Purple Heart.
Julius married the love of his life, Anne Economico, on March 16, 1948 in the Bronx, NY. Anne died in November of 2002.
Julius was a Dental Technician for Trio Dental Lab in New York City for 20 years.
He was a drummer in a band, enjoyed Big Band music as well as old B+W western movies and American Indian Culture. Julius was an avid Yankees fan.
Julius is survived by his son Dennis Dellabate of Peekskill, NY; 2 sisters, Louise Salemi and her husband Benny of Rochelle Park, NJ and Millie Centrillo of Bronx, NY; his 6 grandchildren, Nicholas, Vincent, Heather, Donald, David and Dennis and his 12 great grandchildren. Julius was predeceased by his daughter Bernadette Savage in September of 2009.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, March 23, 2021 11:00am at St. Lawrence O’Toole Church, Brewster. Entombment will follow at Ferncliff Cemetery, Hartsdale, NY. Visitation will be held on Tuesday morning prior to funeral mass from
9:00am-10:30am at Beecher Funeral Home, 1 Putnam Avenue, Brewster, NY. Due to COVID-19 restriction the funeral home can have 50 people inside at one time, you may be asked to wait outside. Masks must be worn inside the funeral home. Condolences for the family may be left on this website.
