Lillian Margaret Philbin

Lillian M. Philbin, of Brewster, NY, died peacefully from complications of Covid-19 at Northern Westchester Hospital in Mt. Kisco on June 4, 2020. She was 79 years old. <br><br>Born on July 30, 1940, in Manhattan, daughter of Frank and Margaret (Lipcsey) Pribeck. Lillian grew up in the Bronx, NY. In 1961, she married John J. Philbin in the Bronx, and later settled in Valhalla, NY. While raising her two children, she attended The College of New Rochelle, where she received her Master’s Degree in Social Work. She worked for many years with the Westchester Department of Social Services in White Plains. <br><br>Lillian was predeceased by her husband John in 2001, as well as a daughter Laura Philbin who passed in 1991. She is survived by her loving son John(Susan) of Danbury, 3 grandchildren she adored: Corinne, Andrew, and Lauren, a brother, Robert Pribeck (Carol) of Rhinebeck, her partner Thomas Wolczak, as well as many nieces and nephews. <br><br>Lillian loved her family more than anything and was always there for them. She was an integral part of their lives. She loved flowers, red wine, and the beach. She was an avid reader and a fan of live theater. She was welcoming to everyone she met, always wanting to know their story. <br><br>There will be a private cremation with a celebration of Lillian’s life to be held later. <br><br>In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in Lillian’s memory, to either the American Cancer Society or JDRF.<br><br><br>
