Luke K. Medla

Luke K. Medla, age 27, died suddenly at his home in North Salem. He is remembered by his brother, Sandy, his parents, Scott and Linda Medla, his extended family and friends and his beloved Rottweiler, Asha.<br> Luke attended North Salem schools and was a member of St. James Episcopal Church. He was a graduate of the Class of 2010 and a member of the North Salem Varsity Golf and JV Lacrosse teams. He was also a member of the Lewisboro Swim and Dive team. In 2015, he graduated from the University of Colorado at Boulder with a B.A. degree in psychology.<br> Luke remained in Colorado after graduation where he could pursue his passions for snowboarding, the outdoors and music. He loved hiking and camping in the mountains and enjoyed cooking for his friends. Luke’s smile was contagious, and he could always be counted on to enliven and energize any gathering. Most of all, Luke will be remembered for the love and support he provided to his friends and family. He was generous of spirit, deeply touching the lives and souls of many and always available to listen and offer words of encouragement. <br> Friends may call on Sunday, December 1st from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Beecher Funeral Home, 1 Putnam Ave., Brewster, NY. There will be a private service on Monday at St. James Episcopal Church.<br> In lieu of flowers, we ask that donations be made to the North Salem Ambulance Corp. at P.O. Box 427, Croton Falls, NY 10519 or a memorial tree be planted in one of the National Forests in Colorado through www.alivingtribute.com. <br>
