Bronson, Margaret T. ‘Maggie’, of Brewster, NY, died December 1, 2011at her home.

Mrs. Bronson was born on November 29, 1918 in Weehawken, NJ to Leslie and Edith (MacChain) Thomson. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Mills College in Oakland, CA, then a dramatic arts degree from The Neighborhood Playhouse in Manhattan.

Mrs. Bronson married John R. Bronson on May 1, 1950 in New York City where they made their home until moving to Brewster in 1954.

Mrs. Bronson was an actress of the stage, screen, television and regional theater throughout the country. Her stage name was Margaret Thomson. She belonged to the Equity & Stage Actors Guild.

Mrs. Bronson was an avid reader, past president of the North Salem Board of Education, and instrumental in the formation of the Putnam Hospital Center through her tireless hours of fund raising, volunteering as chairman of the Putnam Community Hospital fair committee and as the first paid director of volunteers. She also served as a key person in the organization of the hospital thrift shop.

Besides her husband John of 61 years, Mrs. Bronson is survived by a daughter, Shelley King and her husband Philip of Catonsville, MD and three grandchildren, Nathaniel, Stephen and Rebecca King.

A private cremation was held earlier.
