Margaret J. Coughlin, of Carmel, NY, formerly of Brewster, NY, passed away peacefully at Putnam Hospital Center in Carmel on Saturday, January 28, 2017. She was 87 years old.

Mrs. Coughlin was born June 18, 1929 in Ossining, NY, daughter to the late Robert and Lillian May (Cuatt) Warne.

Margaret married John J. Coughlin on July 24, 1949 in Yorktown, NY. Mr. Coughlin died on March 3, 1987.

Mrs. Coughlin had worked at Guerlain Perfume in Purdys, NY followed by Guideposts, Inc. in Carmel, NY before working for Putnam Precision Products, Inc. in Brewster. She was a former member of the Brewster Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary and volunteer with the Putnam Hospital Center Auxiliary. She was also a secretary for J.J. Coughlin and Son, husband’s business for many years. Margaret enjoyed bingo and cooking. She was also an avid NY Yankees fan.

Margaret is survived by her son James A. ‘Tony’ Coughlin of Lehighton, PA.
