Marguerite “Peggy” Scaglione went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, February 25, 2016 at her daughter’s home in Danbury. She was 83 years old. Peggy is survived by her devoted husband of 61 years, Sam of Brookfield, three daughters Christina Fegen and fiancé Wayne of Danbury, Stefanie McArdle and husband Bill of Brookfield, Margie Aldrich and husband Geoff of Brookfield, six grandchildren Xavier Metichecchia and wife Kelly of Danbury, Lauren Panebiano and husband Frank of Lincoln, California, Daniel McArdle, Maria McArdle, Olivia Aldrich, and Vivian Aldrich of Brookfield, and three great-grandchildren Michael, Vincent, and Leonardo. She is also survived by her brother Edward Enright and wife Sarah of Brewster, her sister Blanche Haggerty and husband Derek of St. Petersburg, Florida, and 16 beloved nieces and nephews.<br> <br> Peggy (or Grandma Piggy as her grandkids often called her) will be remembered most by those who love her for her bright welcoming smile, selfless spirit, and dedication to her family. Peggy and Sam were high school sweethearts and dated until Sam entered the Army in 1950. When he returned home in 1952, they opened their first bakery together in the Bronx and were married on October 31, 1954. In 1969, they moved to Connecticut with their three girls and opened the Scaglione Bakery on North Street in Danbury. After retiring, they remained in Danbury until 2003, when they moved to Brookfield. Peggy and Sam just recently celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary. Peggy--beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, sister, and friend--will be sadly missed by all who were fortunate to love her.<br><br>A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday March 1, 2016 at St. Joseph’s Church, Brookfield, CT at 10am. Interment will be private. Friends and family may call Beecher Funeral Home, 1 Putnam Avenue, Brewster, NY, on Monday February 29, 2016 from 2-4pm and 7-9p. www.Beecherfuneralhome.com<br>
