Marie J. ‘Mimi’ Bonaventure past away at home in Brewster, New York, peacefully with her family at her side on Monday September 3, 2012 at the age of 88.
She was born March 10, 1924 in New York, New York, daughter of the late Peter and Margaret (LoPiccolo) Polgano. She graduated from New York City Schools in 1941. On June 2, 1946 she married Thomas F. Bonaventure in Manhattan. Mrs. Bonaventure worked as a Purchasing Agent for Honeywell in North White Plains for twenty five years before retiring in 1987. After her husband Thomas past away in January of 2007 she moved back to Brewster.
She is survived by her three children; Frances Koch of Carmel, NY, Thomas Bonaventure of Brewster, NY, Marguerite Surovy of Winnetka, CA, a sister Rose Pane of Yonkers, NY, four grandchildren; Brian and Evan MacPhee, Marisa Surovy and Stephanie Gopian and two great grandchildren.
The wake will be held at Beecher Funeral Home in Brewster, NY on Wed. Sept. 5, 2012 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Interment will take place in Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Hawthorne on Thur. Sept. 6.
In Lieu of flowers contributions in her memory may be made to St. Jude's Childrens Hospital.
