Mary F. McGreevy, of Brewster, NY died peacefully on Saturday May 19, 2018 at Danbury Regional Hospice. She was 71 years old.
Born on January 7, 1947 in NYC, NY daughter of the late Robert and Bridget (Lonergan) Slyne. She was a high school graduate and continued her schooling at Manhattan Community College.
On April 25, 1970 she married the love of her life Martin G. McGreevy. Together they moved to Brewster, NY in 1973 to raise their family.
Mary was a real estate agent with Houlihan Lawrence reality in Brewster, NY. She loved everything about her job that she has had for the last 38 years.
Mrs. McGreevy would wake up every morning and say “how can I help.” She never gave up in life and was a kind and generous person. Mary’s greatest passion in life was her family, she was a wonderful wife, great mother and an extra special grandmother. She will be greatly missed by everyone who called her friend.
Mary is not only survived by her loving husband Martin, but her two children; Veronica A. Smith (Kevin) of North Salem, NY and Martin R. McGreevy (Dana) of North Salem, NY, her sister Kathleen Cunningham of Flushing, NY, and her 5 grandchildren; Colin, Gavin, Liam, Quinn and Finnian.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at St. Joseph’s Church, Somers, NY on Friday May 25, 2018 at 10 am. Interment will follow at St. Lawrence O’ Toole Cemetery. Family and friends may call the Beecher Funeral Home, 1 Putnam Avenue, Brewster, NY on Thursday May 24th from 4pm-8pm.
In lieu of flowers the family is wishing donations would be made to the NYC PBA Widows and Children’s Fund, 125 Broad St, 11th Flr New York, NY 10004-2400
