Mary T. Werner Obituary
Werner, Mary T., age 85, of Brewster NY, died January 22, 2015 in Danbury, CT.
Mary was born on May 14, 1929 in Richmond Hills, Queens, NY to James J. and Matilda (Greeley) Quinlavin.
On January 22, 1949 Mary married the love of her life, John F. Werner in at St. Mary Gate of Heaven in Ozone Park, Queens, NY. After making their home in Rosedale, Queens, they moved their family to Brewster in 1969. Mr. Werner died on November 7, 2011.
Mary was an avid bowler, NY Mets fan, seamstress and crafter. She enjoyed her Manhattans and tea as well as shopping and bingo. She along with her husband John, were very active parishioners of St. Lawrence O’Toole Church through the years. It was, however, her family that was dearest to her heart. There was always a special moment on hand for her children and grandchildren.
Mary is survived by her daughters, Maureen Patterson of Brewster, NY, Patricia Sullivan of Poughquag, NY and Elizabeth Werner Young of New Milford, CT; 15 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Besides her husband John, Mary was predeceased by a son, John F. Werner III on December 13, 2010.
A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, February 20, 2015 11:00am at Sacred Heart Church in Putnam Lake (Patterson), NY. A private cremation will follow. Friends may call at the Beecher Funeral Home, 1 Putnam Ave. Brewster on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9pm. www.beecherfuneralhome.com
