Matthew M. Myer, of Brewster, NY died at his home on Wednesday, March 20, 2019. He was 55 years old. <br>Born on September 2, 1963 in Poughkeepsie, NY, son of James E. and Margaret Bernadine (Plass) Myer. Matthew graduated from Katy High School, Katy, TX<br><br>Matthew was an IT technician with Enron Corporation in Houston, TX before moving to Putnam County in 2006. Following his move he first worked as a locksmith and then was a peer counselor for the Rose House in Carmel, NY. <br><br>Matthew was a parishioner of Regina Coeli Roman Catholic Church in Hyde Park, NY. He was an avid fan of many sports, particularly the NY Yankees. While living in Texas he was a volunteer fireman for the Sealy Fire Department. One of his greatest passions in life was caring for the environment. <br>Matthew is survived by his children; Nicholas M. Myer of Weston Lakes, TX, Alexis Noel Patel and her husband Jay of Houston, TX and his step daughter Courtney Owens. He is survived by his brothers James E. Myer Jr. of Katy, TX and Christopher Myer of Wallis, TX and his sister, Mary Myer San Antonio of Sealy, TX. Also a grandson Elyjah. He was predeceased by his brothers, Peter and William Myer and his step daughter Sidney Owens. <br><br>A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, March 29 at 10:00 am at Our Lady of the Rosary Chapel, 99 Inwood Avenue, Poughkeepsie, NY. A memorial visitation will be held on Thursday, March 28, 2019 at Beecher Funeral Home, 1 Putnam Avenue, Brewster, NY from 4pm-7pm.
