Patrick Joseph Pettit, age 81, of Brewster, NY, died March 18, 2017 at Putnam Hospital Center in Carmel, NY.
Patrick was born in Ireland, on October 10, 1935 to James Eugene and Kitty Pettit (nee Kenny). He attended school in Ireland, and as a young man immigrated to the United States and later became a citizen. In 1959 he married Mary Hanora Feeney in the Bronx, whom he had also met in Ireland.
Before moving to Patterson, New York, Patrick and Mary lived for a short time in the Bronx and later moved to Long Island. In 1993 the family moved to Patterson, and stayed there until his beloved Mary passed away in 2015. It was after that, he moved to his son’s house in Brewster, NY.
Patrick worked as a Building Manager for Rudin Management for 37 years in New York City.
He is survived by sons Patrick Jr.(Kathleen) of Patterson and Gerard (Shelly) of Brewster. He is predeceased by a daughter Catherine Pettit and another son James Eugene. He is also survived by three sisters, Patricia, Delia and Marcella, and a brother James. Seven brothers and sisters predeceased him as well. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren; Kayleigh Czarina Pettit, Erin Pettit, Patrick J Pettit III, Brandon Pettit. Melissa Pettit and William Rodriguez.
Burial of Mr. Pettit will take place at Rose Hills Memorial Park on Tuesday, March 21, at 12:00pm. The family will receive friends and visitors at Beecher Funeral Home on Monday March 20, between the hours of 5 and 9 pm.
