Peter Rossi

Peter Rossi of Stormville, New York, Died at home on Sunday February 20, 2011 with his family at his side. He was 72.

Mr. Rossi was born May 7, 1938 in New York, NY, son of the late Nick and Fran Rossi. He attended City College and received two Masters one of which was his MSW from Columbia University. He was married to Toby Berman-Rossi who predeceased him in 2004.

Mr. Rossi lived in Putnam Valley until 1995 before moving to Miami Shores where he lived for 10 years. He settled in Stormville 5 years ago. He worked as a Social Worker for Northern Westchester, Putnam BOCES, the Miami Housing Authority and was dedicated to many causes.


Mr. Rossi is survived by his two daughters, Simone Berman-Rossi of Brooklyn, NY, Lucia Berman-Rossi of Cambridge, MA, a brother Richard Rossi of Williamsburg, Virginia, a sister Trisha Rossi of New York, NY and three grandchildren Olive, Marley and Seeger.

Interment will be private. Friends may call at the Beecher Funeral Home, 1 Putnam Avenue, Brewster, NY on Fri. from 4:30 to 7:30 pm and Sat. from 1 to 3 pm.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Mr. Rossi’s memory may be made to Hudson River Sloop Clearwater, 724 Wolcott Ave., Beacon, NY 12508 or PAPA, Peekskill Area Pastor’s Association's food pantry and soup kitchen.
