Philip E. Prinz, age 77, of Brewster, NY, died Tuesday, May 5, 2015 at his home. He was 77 years old.

Mr. Prinz was born February 1, 1938 in NYC, to Maximilian and Frances (O’Brien) Prinz. He graduated from Brewster High School in 1957 and served in the Army.

Philip married Ann Walsh on September 21, 1956 in Brewster, NY.

Mr.Prinz served the Putnam County Sheriffs Department for 34 years. He had served as the Undersheriff for a good portion of those years. Earlier on he taught Civil Law in Albany and throughout NYS under Sheriff Raynor Weizenecker. Mr. Prinz had worked for IBM prior to his serving the Sheriffs Department.

Philip was the president of the Milltown Rural Cemetery Association, a former member of the Brewster Fire Department and a past Brewster Little League. He had a very skilled hand and a passion for model building.

Besides his wife Ann, Mr. Prinz is survived by three sons, Gary Prinz of Brewster, Patrick Prinz of Clermont, NY, and Philip E. Prinz Jr. of Round Rock, TX
Also 11 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. He was pre-deceased by a sisters, Josephine and Maxine.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, May 8, 2015 12:30pm at Beecher Funeral Home, 1 Putnam Avenue, Brewster, NY. Interment following at Milltown Rural Cemetery, Brewster. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 7-9pm and Thursday from 5-9pm.

Donations may be made in Mr. Prinz’s memory to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
