Phyllis D. Viar

Phyllis D. Viar, of Brewster, NY, formerly of Mt. Vernon, NY, died peacefully at Putnam Hospital Center on October 23, 2018. She was 82 years old.
Born on May 30th, 1936 in Bronx, NY, daughter of the late Nunzio and Rachel (Nigro) Bracone. Phyllis married the love of her life Anthony Viar Jr. on May 27th, 1962. Anthony predeceased his wife on October 14, 2009.
Phyllis was an administrative assistant with the Mt. Vernon High School for 9 years before retiring. She loved to cook and spend time with her family. Prior to moving to Brewster, Phyllis was always lending a hand to others.
Mrs. Viar is survived by her children; Michael Viar and his wife Melissa and Julie Ann Franco, her 4 grandchildren; Jonathan, Adam, Kyle & Vincent and her sister Lee Tesoro.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday October 29th at St. Lawrence O’Toole Church, Brewster, NY at 11am. Internement will be private. Visitation will be held on Sunday October 28th from 1pm-5pm at Beecher Funeral Home, 1 Putnam Avenue, Brewster, NY.
