Robert J. Dunn

On August 29, 2017, Robert J. Dunn passed away at the age of 81.
He was born in Manhattan on May 19, 1936.
Robert is predeceased by his parents, Josephine (McAuley) Dunn, and John Joseph Dunn, his siblings, Richard Dunn, and Eileen Conklin, Nephew, Robert Dunn.
His heart was broken when he buried his only Son, Adam Joseph Dunn.
He is survived by his wife of almost 34 years, Leokadia Dunn (Brewster, NY), his daughters, Denise Hoffman and her husband Jeff (Yorktown Heights, NY), and Bridgett Dunn (Stamford, CT). Brother-in-law, John Conklin (Arizona), Sister-in-law, Shirley Dunn (Alabama) and one niece and several nephews.
Robert was the very proud Grand Father of Robbie, Kelly, Kimmy, Tommy, Nicole and Nick.
He attended Brewster High School, where his daughter’s later took pride in passing the Athletic display case that held his Football team picture. He proudly served in the Airforce before his employment at Metro North for 37 years. While working for Metro North, he also worked as a School Bus Driver for Brewster Central School’s for 11 years. He left his bus driving position to later work for the Local 200 Union for service employees for 3 years.
Robert retired and fulfilled his dream of living in Florida, part time, for 13 years. He was a true blue Yankee and Giant fan, and enjoyed the occasional round of golf, and fishing while in Florida.
He also leaves behind his beloved “Brandi Girl” his German Shepherd of almost 10 years.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated today, September 1, 2017 at St. Lawrence O’Toole Church, Brewster, NY at 10am. Interment will follow at St. Lawrence O’ Toole Cemetery.
