Roger Lee Abrams, age 61, of Patterson, NY, died Saturday July 16, 2016 at Putnam Hospital Center.
Mr. Abrams was born May 30, 1955 in New York City, NY, son to Ricki Soaring Dove currently of Atlanta, GA and the late Reuben Robert Abrams. He graduated from Valhalla High School in 1973 and shortly after began working as a Fire Alarm Service Technician with Fire Systems, Inc.(now Red Hawk Fire & Security) in Hawthorne, NY.
Roger married the love of his life, Rose Marie Williams (Salmon) on November 29, 1981 at the First Baptist Church in Brewster, NY. Together they created their home in Patterson, NY and lived there for almost 35 years.
Roger was a great and funny man, he did everything for others and expected nothing in return. He was a curious man and wanted to learn about everything. He enjoyed classical music and was a DJ on WINE-FM (now known as WRKI/I-95) in Brookfield, CT. He was passionate about Trains, Presidential History, playing Trivia, and Art. He was also an accomplished Drummer.
Besides his wife Rose Marie, Mr. Abrams is survived by his mother Ricki Soaring Dove, Stepmother Brenda Abrams. He is also survived by his four daughters, Robyn Elizabeth Abrams, Rebecca-Lyn Abrams (her significant other Jessie Williams), Deborah Violet Abrams (her significant other Wayne Jekot) and Cathryn Michelle Abrams (her husband William Karl Hohenstein), his siblings; Betsy Anne Abrams (and her husband Matt Crowther) Walter Brownsword (his wife Alice Polvogt-Brownsword), Nancy Ellen Feldman, Kerry Day (and his wife Karen Day) and Jody Day. He is also survived by three nieces, Erika Day, Ava Brownsword and Lida Brownsword. He was predeceased by his father, Reuben Robert Abrams and a brother Eric Lee Abrams.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday July 26, 2016 from 4pm-8pm. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday July 27, 2016 at 11am at Beecher Funeral Home, 1 Putnam Avenue, Brewster, NY.
