Rose Baryla

Rose Baryla, of Brewster, NY, formerly of Bronx, NY, died on Saturday October 17, 2020. She was 91 years old.

Born on September 5, 1929 in Manhattan, NY, daughter of the late Frank and Emilia (Dobriansky) Rutkowsky. She received her bachelor’s degree from Brooklyn College.

On November 24, 1956 she married the love of her life Merrill Baryla at St. George Ukrainian Catholic Church in Manhattan, NY. Mr. Baryla predeceased his wife on August 13, 2005. Prior to moving to Brewster, NY 13 years ago, Rose lived in Bronx, NY for 45 years. She was an active parishioner of St. Mary’s Protectress Ukrainian Catholic Church in Bronx.

Rose is survived by her children; Bruce Baryla, Alicia Baryla-Benson and Eric Baryla and his wife Grace and her 3 grandchildren; Christian Tyler, Eric Travis and Ashley Renae.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Friday, October 23, 2020 at 9:30am at St. Michael’s Ukrainian Catholic Church, 21 Shonnard Place, Yonkers, NY. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Queens, NY. Friends may call at the Beecher Funeral Home, 1 Putnam Ave, Brewster on Thursday, October 22, 2020 from 4pm-8pm. www.beecherfuneralhome.com
