Sanford DeJoseph, of Brewster, NY, died peacefully at home on March 14, 2020 with his family by her side. He was 96 years old.<br>Born on August 19, 1923 in Bronx, NY, son of the late John and Helen (Knapp) DeJoseph, and brother of Marie Scott. <br>Sanford graduated High school and served in the Army during WWII, fighting in Normandy. He married Rose Steinberg in Mt. Vernon. Rose predeceased her husband in 2007. Sanford had spent time living in Forest Hills, Queens and Mt. Vernon, NY before moving to Brewster 12 years ago. He enjoyed travel and dining out.<br>Mr. DeJoseph was the owner/operator/contractor for 60 years, of his Queens based company, Adelphi Construction.<br>Mr. DeJoseph is survived by his step-son, Robert Mausel of Holyoke MA, his step-grandchildren Jordana and David, and 4 step-great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his niece Christine Darien of Brewster, NY as well as 5 other nieces and a nephew; Helen, John, Grace, Therese,and Regina<br>A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, March 18th at 11am at St. Lawrence O’Toole Church, 34 Prospect Street, Brewster, NY. Sanford DeJoseph, of Brewster, NY, died peacefully at home on March 14, 2020 with his family by her side. He was 96 years old.
