Theodore I. Strauss
Theodore I. Strauss of North Salem, NY, passed away peacefully at home on Monday February 27, 2017 at home. He was 81 years old.<br><br>Theodore was born April 21, 1935 in Germany, son to the late Max and Lucy (Mezger) Strauss. Mr. Strauss received his Master’s degree at New York City College and honorably served in the US Navy. <br><br>On December 23, 1962 he married Brenda Berman in New Rochelle, NY. <br><br>Mr. Strauss was a teacher for over 35 years with Woodland School District in Greenburgh, NY before retiring in 1997. He was a member of the North Salem Ambulance Corp and the Westchester County Swim Association. <br><br><br>He is survived by loving wife Brenda; his 3 children; Emily and John VanKleeck, Mark Strauss and Marisa and Ted Daros, his grandchildren, Sarah, Eric, Teddy, Jr. and Victoria and his sister Louise Austin. He was predeceased by his sister Betsy Braunstein. <br><br>A graveside service will be held on Wednesday March 1, 2017 at 12pm at Peach Pond Cemetery, North Salem, NY. <br><br>In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Friends of Karen and/or Ruth Keeler Memorial Library. <br>Obituary

Theodore was born April 21, 1935 in Germany, son to the late Max and Lucy (Mezger) Strauss. Mr. Strauss received his Master’s degree at New York City College and honorably served in the US Navy.
On December 23, 1962 he married Brenda Berman in New Rochelle, NY.
Mr. Strauss was a teacher for over 35 years with Woodland School District in Greenburgh, NY before retiring in 1997. He was a member of the North Salem Ambulance Corp and the Westchester County Swim Association.
