Lorraine Pulley Obituary

Lorraine Pulley was born June 15, 1950 to the late Elizabeth and James Pulley in the Bronx, New York. She had five siblings, Douglas (deceased), Joanne (deceased), survived by Robert, Ronald, and Lisa. Lorraine was the eldest daughter of the six siblings. When Lorraine attended Jane Addams Vocational High School she became a hospital volunteer (also known as a candy striper) where she developed her skills in the nursing program. She received her education and graduated from Jane Addams in June 1968. After she graduated, Lorraine worked at various hospitals in the New York City area. Lorraine devoted the last 40 years of her career working in different departments at the Westchester Square Hospital in the Bronx. She developed many close friendships working as a Nursing Assistant, EKG Technician, and later in her career as an ER Clerk. Lorraine looked forward to the time she could retire and kick-back and relax and that chapter finally came in June 2012. She was all smiles as she approached the countdown and enjoyed celebrating with family, friends, and co-workers at her retirement party. Lorraine was a loving big sister, aunt, cousin, friend, co-worker and loved by all. She was affectionately called "Raney" and "Momma" Lorraine. She enjoyed family visits and telling stories that made everyone laugh. Lorraine was very caring and nurturing and was so giving at all times to family and friends. Lorraine was very skilled in arts and crafts and would love to spend time traveling with family, making cards, decorative boxes, stuffed bears and crocheting blankets. Each year she would setup special occassion craft time with her great nephews, Lucas and Joshua. Lorraine grew up in the East Bronx Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses in her youth and recently expressed a renewed interest. Lorraine attended the Memorial of Christ's death in April 2020and enjoyed a few zoom public talks and expressed how she enjoyed the zoom format. Lorraine is loving remembered and leaves behind to cherish her memories Bobby (brother), Ronnie (brother), Lisa (lil' sis). She leaves behind MaryAnne (sister in law), Elizabeth, Kendra, Jahne (nieces), James, Jerell and Wayne (nephews), great newphews Lucas, and Joshua, and great niece Jordan Jahne and a host of cousins, family and friends. A Private Cremation was held on August 12, 2020. Memorial Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 19, 2020 from 3-6 PM. A Memorial Service will be celebrated at 5:00 PM.
